Alan Chilton was a career National Park Service employee, serving as a seasonal interpreter at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield and Petrified Forest National Park. His first permanent position was as museum technician at Fort Scott National Historic Site. He returned to Wilson’s Creek as the battlefield’s museum technician in 2009 and passed away in July 2021. While at Wilson’s Creek he assisted several volunteers with research on the Old Wire Road.
Greg Mertz is a longtime volunteer at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.
